In New Delhi, for example, if you go to a bar you can have a beer for about $6.00 – $6.50, while in the country you’ll averagely pay about $1.60 – $2.00 for a local brand, and about $3.00 or so for imported one.
In supermarkets in the capital city a can of beer costs about $1.80 – $2.00, while a bottle of wine is usually sold at a price of $11.00 (locally produced one) and $22.00 (imported).
