Prices in Iceland
Iceland is the most expensive travel destination in the whole world. Its location on the global map – an island country in the North Atlantic Ocean, partly explains this as the region of the Northern European countries is generally an expensive area for travellers. However, when it comes to buying groceries, Japan stands out with higher prices. Alcohol in Iceland is cheaper only than alcohol in Norway and Singapore, whereas transport in Denmark and Norway is at higher price levels.
