The system works in zones – usually the price of the ticket depends on how many zones you cross. If you are traveling within one zone, the price is the same, no matter the distance.
Prices of tickets may vary depending on the city, too – in Munich, for example, a one- way ticket for the public transport is at a price around €2.50, while in Berlin is between €2.10-€2.30.
There are several options that you can choose from if you wish to use the public transport in Germany – bus, street cars (trams or so-called “trolleys”), underground/ suburban – Bahn and light rail (available only in some cities).
